Grange on Leafs: Burke slowly losing power
Brian Burke remains the executive in charge of Toronto Maple Leafs but after four years at the collapsing centre of the hockey universe he seems more like someone in public office slowly losing his grip on power.
There have been policy flip-flops and old allies sacrificed and new alliances made. There have been battles with the press in the effort to shift opinion, all in the name of an old war horse trying to keep stride even as the finish line seems to get further and further away.
