SLIDELL, La. -- Six days after a tornado ripped through Slidell, dozens of homes are now topped by the familiar blue tarps, and neighbors continue the clean-up process.

Two workers rescued after oil platform fire off Louisiana coast



NEW ORLEANS -- U.S. Coast Guard officials confirm two people were rescued, after an oil production platform caught fire in the Gulf of Mexico Sunday.

The non-producing oil platform, owned and operated by Arena Offshore, is located about 50 miles south of Grand Isle.
Tim O'Leary, a spokesman for Arena, said the fire happened about 8 a.m. The two injured workers were the only people on board the platform, he said.
