TORONTO -- The Toronto Raptors selected Lithuanian centre Jonas Valanciunas with the fifth overall pick of the NBA draft on Thursday night.
The six-foot-11, 231-pound centre is coming off his first full season with Euroleague club Lietuvos Rytas. Valanciunas is considered one of the best young players in Europe, with aggressive rebounding and shot blocking skills.
