Essentially it boiled down to 12 minutes of stoppage time. Two penalties, two goals, much protest and a touchline tear-up between Arsene Wenger and Kenny Dalglish.
The first 90 minutes proved largely irrelevant, apart from a clash of heads which left Jamie Carragher unconscious and carried from the pitch wearing a neck brace and an oxygen mask.
