The world number 36 showed fine form with a 6-2 6-0 demolition of Germany’s Mischa Zverev.
He broke Zverev’s serve five times and set up a last-eight clash with India’s Somdev Devvarman, who surprised Spanish fifth seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 7-6 (8-6) 2-6 7-6 (8-6).
